Microsoft has announced a new Windows and Surface event for October, where it is expected to discuss the role of local artificial intelligence (AI) in the next generation of PCs. The event will bring together senior executives from Microsoft and Nvidia, with discussions expected to cover Windows, Surface devices, Nvidia RTX technology and the wider PC ecosystem.
Microsoft Surface Event Date and Time
Microsoft confirmed through an X post that its Windows and Surface event will take place in San Francisco on October 7 at 10am PT, which is 10:30pm IST in India. This will be Microsoft’s first major Windows-focused event since May 2024.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Windows and Devices Executive Vice President Pavan Davuluri, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang are confirmed to attend. The company says the event will focus on new developments across Windows, Nvidia RTX Spark, Surface and the broader PC ecosystem.
The event could also offer more details about upcoming Microsoft hardware, including the Surface Laptop Ultra and Surface RTX Spark Dev Box. Microsoft introduced both products earlier this year but has not yet announced their pricing or release dates. Nvidia has said that the first Windows PCs powered by its RTX Spark platform will start arriving in October.
The Surface Laptop Ultra is described by Microsoft as its most powerful Surface laptop so far. It uses Nvidia’s RTX Spark platform, which combines a Grace CPU with Blackwell RTX graphics. The platform supports up to 128GB of unified memory and can deliver up to one petaflop of AI compute.
The Surface RTX Spark Dev Box is designed as a compact desktop for developers working with local AI models. It also supports up to 128GB of unified memory and up to one petaflop of AI compute.
Microsoft is not expected to announce Windows 12 at the October event.
