Philips has launched the new S7221 5G smartphone in India, adding another option to the mid-range 5G smartphone segment. The phone starts at Rs. 20,499 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and is available to buy through Amazon. Philips is also offering an 8GB RAM version with 128GB of internal storage.
The Philips S7221 5G comes with a 6.67-inch HD+ display. The larger screen is aimed at users who spend time watching videos, browsing social media or playing games. The smartphone runs on Android 16, giving users access to the latest Android features and software experience.
Under the hood, the Philips S7221 5G is powered by a 5G processor. It also supports dual 5G SIM connectivity, allowing users to use two 5G SIM cards on the device. This can be useful for people who use separate numbers for personal and work purposes.
The smartphone gets a 5,700mAh battery, which is one of its key specifications. The larger battery is designed to provide longer usage between charges, depending on how the phone is used. Users who regularly stream videos, browse the web or use mobile data throughout the day may find the higher battery capacity useful.
For photography, the Philips S7221 5G features a 64-megapixel main rear camera. The camera setup comes with features such as AI scene optimisation and portrait mode. The AI feature is designed to automatically adjust camera settings according to the scene, while portrait mode helps create a background blur effect around the subject.
At the front, the phone gets a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The front camera also makes the device suitable for users who regularly use social media and video-calling applications.
With its 5G connectivity, 5,700mAh battery, 64-megapixel camera and Android 16 software, the Philips S7221 5G is positioned in the competitive mid-range smartphone market in India. Its Rs. 20,499 starting price puts it against several other 5G smartphones in the same price range.
