Acer’s TravelLite T24-54M is designed as a business laptop with a clear focus on durability, battery life and everyday productivity. It does not try to compete with premium laptops on performance or display quality, but instead aims to provide a dependable machine for office users. With a lightweight body, Intel Core 5 processor, 16GB RAM and a 60Wh battery, the TravelLite T24-54M offers a sensible combination for regular work.
Acer TravelLite T24-54M Design and Build
The Acer TravelLite T24-54M gets a new design compared with the previous model. It uses a combination of aluminium panels and a polycarbonate frame. The metal lid and keyboard area give the laptop a more premium feel, while the overall construction is designed to handle everyday business use. The laptop is also MIL-STD 810H certified for durability.
At 1.30kg with the 40Wh battery, or 1.36kg with the 60Wh battery, it is easy to carry around. The port selection is also useful, with USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI, Ethernet and a headphone jack.
The bottom panel has ventilation openings, although the limited clearance means it is better to use the laptop on a hard, flat surface rather than a bed or sofa. The 180-degree hinge is useful when sharing the screen or presenting content, but its raised design could have been better protected.
Acer TravelLite T24-54M Display
The laptop comes with a 14-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 1,920×1,200-pixel resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The 16:10 aspect ratio provides some additional vertical space, which is useful for documents and web browsing.
Viewing angles are good and the anti-glare coating helps reduce reflections in bright offices. Colours look natural, making it suitable for productivity tasks. However, the 250-nit brightness is one of the weaker points. The display is comfortable indoors but becomes difficult to see under direct sunlight.
Keyboard, Trackpad and Webcam
The TravelLite T24-54M has a backlit, spill-resistant keyboard with a spacious layout. The keys offer decent travel, although they can feel slightly stiff during long typing sessions. The touchpad supports Windows gestures and works well after increasing its sensitivity.
A fingerprint reader makes signing in quick, while the 1080p webcam includes a privacy shutter. Video quality is acceptable in good lighting but becomes noisy in darker environments. The speakers are loud enough for meetings and videos, though they lack depth.
Performance and Battery Life
The laptop is powered by an Intel Core 5 320 processor, paired with 16GB DDR5 RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. For office workloads, the performance is more than adequate. Browsing with multiple Chrome tabs, working on spreadsheets, handling PDFs, video calls and presentations can be done without major issues.
The 60Wh battery is another strong point. During testing, the laptop lasted through a full working day with browsing, research, image editing and video streaming. With moderate usage, around 20 percent battery remained after roughly 10 hours.
Acer TravelLite T24-54M Verdict
The Acer TravelLite T24-54M is a practical business laptop for users who value durability, battery life and connectivity over high-end features. Its display could be brighter, but the overall package works well for office productivity. With a lightweight design, capable Intel processor, 16GB RAM and long battery life, the Acer TravelLite T24-54M is a reliable option for business users.
