Vivo has confirmed the India launch date of the Vivo V80. The new V-Series smartphone will be launched in India on October 6 at 12pm. It will arrive as the successor to the Vivo V70, which was launched earlier this year.
The Vivo V80 will be available in three colour options: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black. After the launch, buyers will be able to purchase the phone through the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline retail stores.
Vivo has already revealed several details about the upcoming smartphone through its Amazon microsite. The Vivo V80 will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen supports 1.07 billion colours and has a claimed local peak brightness of 5,000 nits. The display also comes with slim 1.25mm bezels.
Vivo V80 Camera Specifications
Camera performance will be one of the main highlights of the Vivo V80. The phone will feature a Zeiss-branded camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS).
It will also have a 50-megapixel Night Telephoto camera using a Sony IMX882 sensor. The telephoto camera supports OIS, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom. The phone will also feature a Zeiss wide-angle camera.
For selfies and group photos, the Vivo V80 gets a 50-megapixel front camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus. The handset will support 4K Cinematic Video recording as well as 4K video recording at 60fps.
Vivo is also adding several AI-powered photography features. These include more than 30 AI creative tools and Live Sticker Collage. The AI Diwali Portrait 2.0 feature is aimed at improving festive portraits, including lighting and skin tones.
Vivo V80 Battery and Software
The Vivo V80 will pack a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo says is the largest battery used in a V-Series smartphone so far. The company claims up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. The battery supports 90W FlashCharge.
The Vivo V80 will be the first V-Series phone to run Android 17-based OriginOS 7. The chipset has not yet been officially confirmed, although a Geekbench listing suggests the phone could use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset.
With the launch just around the corner, Vivo is expected to reveal more details, including the India price and storage variants, on October 6.
